Gaétan Talbot

👏🤩 Announcing our newest volunteer of the month for July, Gaétan the delivery driver! Congratulations and thank you for volunteering with us. Here is what he has to say about his experience:

“I have been volunteering for two months and was surprised to see the large number of books distributed to many organizations. It is encouraging to see all the efforts made by the Minibiblioplus team to promote and develop an interest in reading among children from a very young age.
In addition, the distribution of books is well planned by a team that is always smiling, which greatly helps the work.
I am happy to contribute to such an important cause as literacy, which is so important in our society.
Thank you to Minibiblioplus.”

Volunteer of the Month – June 2025

Andisheh Kazemi

👏🤩 Announcing our newest volunteer of the month for June, Andi! Congratulations and thank you for volunteering with us. Here is what she has to say about her experience:

“When I first started volunteering, I was a bit nervous, mostly wondering, “How do I keep a group of toddlers from crawling away mid-story?” 😅 But each session taught me something new,  mostly from the kids themselves. One time, I asked “Who loves hugs?” during a story, and suddenly I was buried under a pile of tiny arms and giggles!

These sweet, chaotic moments have helped me stay more present, more positive, and honestly… reminded me how fun it is to just be in the moment. I’m so grateful to be part of minibiblioPLUS!”

Aziz Gueye

👏🤩 Announcing our newest volunteer of the month for May, Aziz! Congratulations and thank you for volunteering with us. Here is what he has to say about his experience:

‘To have an organization like Minibiblioplus, which helps share the love of words and stories, as well as making literature and literacy accessible to children is truly wonderful! Seeing the little ones smile, marvel and look forward to every page turned is a reward beyond measure. Their imagination (always overflowing) and enthusiasm is a source of inspiration; they never stop reinventing stories, and never stop making us learn. They make the world. As Picasso said: “In every child there is an artist.”‘

Volunteer of the Month – March 2025

Abril Rivera

🥳👏 Announcing our newest volunteer of the month for March, Abril! Abril has gone above and beyond her weekly Storytime sessions, making time to participate in Special Events and always bringing a bright energy to her readings. Here is what she has to say about her experience:

Volunteering at Minibinlioplus means feeding off the imagination of young children.

Not only am I learning how to bond with them, but I am also bringing out my inner child. Minibiblioplus’ initiatives are a great start for incentivizing children to read from a very young age and develop their language skills. I have also been surprised at the kind of patience and empathy I have for them, especially when I pay attention to their little thoughts and expressions as we go through our readings.

The kids look forward to seeing me because every reading session is a fresh new adventure!”

Volunteer of the Month- February 2025

Claudia Pateras

👏🤩 Congratulations to our latest volunteer of the month for February, Claudia! Claudia’s smiles and fun stortyime animations bring the children much happiness and joy with every reading. Here is what she has to say about her experience:

“I became a volunteer at minibiblioPLUS last summer when looking for opportunities to read to children. I was delighted to discover this wonderful organization that allowed me to share my passion of reading, just as I had done with my nephews when they were little. It was one of my favorite activities with them: to delve into new worlds and bring them alive with different voices and sound effects, and to witness the joy, laughter and wonder that it brought them. Those were special moments that every child should experience.

My volunteer sessions at a local daycare have been so much fun. It’s very gratifying and touching to see how happy and excited the children are for story time. And the staff members are amazing and very welcoming. It’s been a wonderful experience that I hope others will explore. I want to thank everyone at minibiblioPLUS for their kindness and support, and to underline the amazing job that they’re doing to support literacy in children, which is extremely important for the development in all facets of their lives, and which will help open doors both personally and professionally.”

Volunteer of the month- November 2024

Anita Gourab

👏🤩 Announcing our newest volunteer of the month for November, Anita! Congratulations and thank you for volunteering in our library. Here is what she has to say about her experience:

Volunteering with minibiblioPLUS has been an incredibly rewarding experience. While my role is behind the scenes in the library, I enjoy knowing that the work I do contributes to children having access to stories that can inspire and educate them. Over time, I’ve realized just how important it is to nurture a love of reading at an early age. While today’s world is so centered on screens, minibiblioPLUS reminds children of the beauty and joy of physical books. Being part of this program has shown me how important small contributions can be in supporting a larger mission. I’m proud to be part of an organization that is dedicated to fostering literacy and making a positive impact in the community.

Volunteer of the Month- October

Chloe Ackan

👏🤩 Congratulations to our latest volunteer of the month for October, Chloe Ackad. Chloe is such a happy and enthusiastic storytime animation volunteer who brings the children much happiness with her readings. Here is what she has to say about her experience:

Volunteering at minibiblioPLUS is truly a magical experience. Going to read books to those amazing children is one of the highlights of my week, and I always leave the daycare with a big smile on my face. Over the last few months, I have been going to the same place on a weekly basis to do story time animations and I have gotten to know very well both the children who attend this daycare, as well as its staff of wonderful women. I have grown very fond of all these grown and little people, as they have all made me feel so welcome. I am proud to have become a member of their little community. I enjoy every moment I spend with the children and the staff alike, laughing together about a wonderfully silly book. In those moments I feel like a child again, enjoying the simple joy of a book with beautiful illustrations.

As I know that all the young minds I read to will be growing up around screens, it is important to me to show these children how magical a paper book can be. Encouraging early childhood literacy is crucial, and that is what we are doing here at minibiblioPLUS . Books have the power to bring so much joy, and I hope to spread that joy every week when I turn the first page of a new book.
